About

As the Registration Coordinator for a large conference management company, most of Louise’s responsibilities are during an event. The first day of an event is very stressful, to the point that she may not have time to eat.

Louise acts as a sort of front-line hostess to the attendees. She knows the attendees very well, and they know her. She is in charge of the Help/Information Desk and handles registration check-in, ensuring that there are no issues and the attendees have a good experience. She also makes herself available to attendees to answer any questions they may have.

Louise monitors check-ins to make sure attendees have paid and to keep ahead of possible problems, while also keeping an eye on no-shows. She reports this to the Event Coordinator as needed. She is responsible for volunteers assigned to help with her duties. For European events, she ensures that attendees have housing, regardless of who provides it.

In addition to her own duties, Louise also assists the Event Coordinator with making sure speakers are where they need to be, refreshments are served, etc.
